What is the VA FSS Schedules Contract Program?
VA FSS is the US Department of Veterans Affairs Federal Supply Schedules Program aka, “VA Schedules” or “VA FSS”. GSA has delegated authority of these contract Schedules to the VA due to its expertise with medical products and services.
There are nine Schedules, each with different domains, that cover a variety of medical and hospital-related products and services (listed below). Each Schedule has Special Item Numbers (SINs), which are subcategories.
VA FSS Schedules can be used by all Federal agencies, from bedpans and flu test kits to nylon gloves and high-end medical equipment for diagnosing a variety of illnesses, as well as healthcare staffing.
The process is similar but not the same as the GSA MAS process for submitting a proposal to the VA FSS Schedules program. The VA has different templates and requirements specific to regulated medical products (e.g., FDA approval and pharma regulations), but the programs are governed by the same procurement regulations.
