Latest GSAR Updates Address AI Safeguards and Evergreen Clause

Oct 5, 2026

The General Services Administration (GSA) has issued its latest class deviations, introducing changes to several provisions and clauses affecting federal contractors.

The latest revisions address several areas of federal contracting, including safeguards for data used in large language model AI systems (GSAR 552.239-7001) and the option to extend Federal Supply Schedule contracts through the Evergreen Clause (GSAR 552.238-116).

The changes are reflected in GSA’s January 15, 2026 memorandum, RGO-2026-01, which has been updated to incorporate the latest deviations.

Contractors can review Attachment A for a list of the affected GSAR parts, along with their effective dates and dates signed. The corresponding regulatory language has also been updated to reflect the changes.
